old crow medicine show – ryman auditorium new year’s eve show – 3-color silkscreen

after i did the parker millsap poster for austin city limits in 2016, i got a call from norm parenteau, who was the manager for parker millsap and the old crow medicine show. he wanted me to be one of three artists to do a poster for the OCMS’s traditional new year’s eve show at ryman auditorium. hatch show print and justin helton were the designers who were going to create the other two posters. i thought it might be interesting to do a native american (crow indian) themed design. amazingly, norm said nobody had ever gone that direction with a poster. he said they typically got a lot of whisky and turn-of-the-century snake oil imagery but never an indian. my long-time collaborator and friend, eric bowman supplied the art.
